Express-Logistika rolls out AI to plan its delivery routes
A new algorithm builds routes around live traffic and the weather, lifting on-time delivery accuracy to 98%.
Express-Logistika has launched a route planner built on machine learning. The model weighs road congestion, the weather forecast, unloading slots at the warehouses and the weight of the cargo, and every route is recalculated every 15 minutes.
The first two weeks of operation cut the average deviation from the promised delivery time from 11% to 2%. The system already runs on every city route and is being extended to intercity haulage step by step.
